I have followed my genealogy back to the stage of the migration of my mother's grandparents and my father's great-grandparents from Cornwall and Norfolk in the mid-19th century. I am grateful to Glen and Gladys Griggs (Glen's great-grandmother Margaret and my great-grandfather Stephen Quintrell were brother and sister) for much of the information about the Quintrell line.

I have yet to make an effective trace of my Datson and Toy ancestors.

Information about my mother's family (Scott, Pearce, and Green) has been obtained from records and from   my mother's cousin Marj Brokensha.

The information on the Quintrell brothers (Clarence Horace, John Adolphus and Richard Hugh) who died in the First World War has been provided by Brian Cooper (Brian's grandmother Alice Emma and my grandfather Stephen William were brother and sister) and I am indebted to him for his research. Due to software incompatibilities, I have had to scan, and in some cases transcribe, Brian's information from his originals. This has resulted in some loss of detail in the original documents.
