On the edge of the Nullarbor
Where the sun shimmers on an empty plain
I see an eagle rise, wings spread wide on a weightless wind,
And my heart soars with its flight
Into a sky that is vast and blue and beyond my imagining

On the cliffs at the Head of Bight
Where the sea breaks onto timeless rocks
I see a whale rise, breaching wide to the circling sea
And my heart vaults with its cry
Over a sea that is vast and blue and beyond my believing

Our hearts rise wide to the open sky
From sea to desert our spirits fly
On the winds of our destiny
  To our heartland
  To our heartland.

At the base of strong Uluru
  Where a rock anchors a nation's heart
I see a people rise, spirits wide to an ageless sky
And my heart leaps with their hope
Into a day that is vast and new and beyond my dreaming

  Bridge:
And our hearts rise, and our hearts rise

Our hearts rise wide to the open sky
From sea to desert our spirits fly
On the winds of our destiny
  To our heartland
  To our heartland.
