On our 20th wedding anniversary. A memory of Charmian and my first meeting on the oval at the Tanunda showgrounds during a church Easter Camp.
Dance with me, you said - a gold and russet day, autumn sun soft on the grass. And so we touched, held, danced a few steps, surprised by confidence springing sure from young bodies. You will do, you said - and skipped away, light and airy as the wind-spun clouds in the April sky. And as I watched, light falling in a long, clean, curving arc from the sky, touched me, and passion, new and bright, and strange, leapt within me. And so we danced, down all our autumn days, 'til now this gold and russet day looks out on our tomorrows. So, my love, for all the new tomorrows we may share, come—dance with me.
